I was going to post about shopping for a North California mid-May trip. I need to plan what to wear, how many dresses to take along, which high heels should go, et cetera.

Instead, when I peer into the dusty, dank corners of the filing cabinet I call my brain, this is what I find:

Alsace. Brunello di Montalcino. Champagne. D.O.C.G. (Denominazion di Origen Controllata e Guarantita). Earthy. Food + wine. Gigondas. Haut-Medoc. Ice Wine. Johannisburg. Kabinett. Loire Valley. Malbec. Napa. Oak barrels (French or American?). Pouilly-Fusse. Quality issues. Ribera del Duero. Sonoma. Trocken. U.S. annual wine production. Viticulture. WINE! X-ray (what, not everything can be about wine, can it?). Yeast. Zinfandel.

I have to go study the Rhone now.
